How usage is counted
Each successful API call or MCP tool call counts as one request; errors and /v1/account don't count. Quotas reset on the 1st of each month (UTC). Paid plans are never cut off: requests beyond your included amount are billed per 1,000 at your plan's overage rate on your next invoice.
What does it cost to build this yourself?
A holiday library is free; keeping it correct isn't. Teams typically spend days building rail-specific rules (Fed Saturday rule, Bacs substitute days, TARGET2 closing days, exchange ad-hoc closures), and then own the on-call when a pinned dependency misses a new holiday. At $19/month Bankday costs less than one engineer-hour.
